I can honestly say it was one of the best days I have had in a long time and I feel privileged to have had the opportunity to come to your workshop and to work with all of your amazing horses. I really do feel like I have gained so much from the day. I feel like I have finally got my confidence back again and that self-believe that I had also lost along the way. I feel proud and quite surprised myself to have achieved so much in one day, especially with the 3 horses!
The Respect and Trust exercise with Cheeky was very poignant in being able to watch Cheeky work with me in a canter and to fill the joy of working in unison. This has touched my heart in regaining leadership that had been lost. Secondly, the Building a Goal exercise was again poignant in keeping intention and focus clear and allowing for creativity in regaining teamwork and leadership which again had been lost. Thank you for the picture - it is very special to us.
Firstly I want to thank you for allowing me to connect with all your beautiful horses. I thoroughly enjoyed the 2days I got to spend with them. Secondly thank you for you words of wisdom. Since last week I've been using your techniques in my daily life. And I feel amazing for it. I have subscribed to you you tube channel as well as watching your videos you have emailed. I really can not begin to describe in words what I took from your course.
Just a quick email to thank yourself, June & my fellow colleagues for providing this amazing opportunity to do something I would never otherwise have done. June and her staff made us all very welcome from the outset, from the cuppa tea and homemade scones to the presentation of the certificates. Personally I thoroughly enjoyed the one to one time with the horses, especially the confidence and assertiveness exercises. I also found the entire 2 days extremely relaxing and definitely felt energised during and afterwards. Please accept my thanks for the life changing course i undertook at your establishment. The workshop has transformed my life in that it has made me focus on what is important in life , what i need to dispose of mentally and how to change my negatives to positive attitudes. Your course has had a profound effect on my phyche. I now look forward to what is important in life. On be half of my family and I, many thanks and keep up the good work.I have no reservations in recommending your excellent course.
It goes without saying that the two day course was great fun but the experience was also informative and enlightening. Thank you for providing us with a wonderful opportunity to try something different. It was lovely to spend time with such mighty and intelligent animals whilst further developing our relationships with the other members of the group. The team and yourself were friendly and put us at ease, especially during activities which may have been outside our members’ comfort zones. The subject matter and activities had been planned really well and it was lovely to receive the thoughtful gift on the final day.
What did you like? Pretty much all of it. I thought the content was excellent, and the whole concept that seemed strange before you did the course, completely made sense once you attended. I liked June’s analysis per person after each ‘horse exercise’, and without exception she pretty much got us all spot on. The feedback was really apt to each person. The location was fabulous, and really helped people ‘switch off’ and focus as it’s such a scenic spot.
We engaged with June and her horses for a 1 day workshop; having significant experience using the equine guided leadership philosophy I was looking forward to introducing my commercial sales team to a different kind of team development day. The team were unaware of what to expect but were open to learning, and the combination of June, the horses, and the environment meant that the team were able to put aside their daily thoughts and challenges and embrace the new learning experience. What helped significantly was the credibility of June as a business leader with relevant and interesting experiences, as well as the option to work with a selection of horses, all with different personalities, this combined with the option of using horses to facilitate team and individual learning, accelerates team connectivity, trust and understanding, and has resulted in an increased desire to learn and do more as a team. Each team member has a personal commitment they are going to work on, and we are now going to consider how to leverage the 3 positions as we move forward through a period of unprecedented change within the organisation. I enjoyed working with June, and think her openness to feedback, ability to go with the flow and work in the moment led to the day being a huge success and thank her for her contribution and look forward to working with her again.
June Burgess is a class act! She has proved herself in business, leadership and team-building in her own companies for many years and is now transferring her expertise to benefit others. I am amazed at how her horses demonstrate the qualities we are trying to emulate in business and life. June has a knack for inspiring others so if you want to set yourself apart as a visionary leader then I highly recommend her horse-inspired programs.
June’s horses are amazing! Kind, bright and intelligent, they recognise genuine leadership. These successful competition horses really know how to be team members. I didn’t expect to learn so much from them.
I really enjoyed my leadership training with June. I got many great tips and the chance to see where my strengths lie. Very enlightening and valuable.
If you are reading this you are already considering the smartest move you will make this year. June challenged me on some of my ways of thinking and helped me to see how others perceive me. She got me to delve deeper into what wasn’t working for me and why. I still can’t believe that I learnt so much about myself from a herd of horses! I am forever grateful.
Wow where do I start, before my coaching session with June I was feeling overwhelmed with everything I needed to achieve. As a result of the session with June I got clarity with regards to my goals, I learned how to appreciate my “now” and she also helped me realize that I was trying to run before I could walk. Currently, I have a clear and simple plan of what I need to do and in what order. This has eliminated all the unnecessary stress and worry, so I can now enjoy my life effortlessly!
Team days - boring, contrived and not very worthwhile in my experience! But with June this couldn’t be more different! Fun, hands-on, interactive, reflective and a personalised approach means that each individual member of the team develops a deep level of self-awareness, builds confidence and develops a sense of pride and achievement through the activities June plans. Working with the horses adds a new dynamic that is totally different and unique to anything else in Northern Ireland! So much was not only achieved on a personal level but as a team too. At the end of the day, everyone had a greater understanding of how each other worked and we were able to recognise the benefits this would bring to the workplace. Such a gorgeous setting made the team day seem more like a much needed retreat than work!
I found the training to be a very tangible demonstration of the importance of non-verbal communication. It is interesting to get immediate feedback based on the horse’s response to how you have communicated with them. You know that it is an honest, non-judgemental and natural response because the horse can’t lie. From that perspective it very quickly brings you to an awareness of your own behaviour/communication style. It showed me that I could do with being a bit more directive. Although I am not afraid of horses the sheer size created a sense of awe and respect and made me all the more aware of every physical and verbal interaction. I can see how this could be used for trust building exercises. On the one hand the sheer size of the horse can create fear and on the other hand discovering that you can handle the horse can instil confidence.
